If the base of the trunk and shaft of the leaves are triangular, with a dusty waxy cuticle, we have a neodypsis. It looked more round to me from your photo and could be the more common ravenea rivularis, aka Majesty Palm. From my experience, either of these is a real water sucker and requires bright light and lots of room. Also prone to scale insects and spider mites. Hope you have 20' ceilings or an atrium!
