Thread OP

Hi! I need help asap please. We planted our beautiful elephant ear plant from home depot a little less then 2 weeks ago. We were told it would go into shock for a few days but it gets worse everyday. It looks almost dead. Wilting over and browning. We just added some new soil to it to see if it helps...How can I revive this beautiful plant? Can someone please help. Thanks so much.

Was it in full/part sun or indoors at HD? What sort of lighting is it in now? It looks sort of like it got sunburn. I would water, water, water and look for new leaf growth. Don't give up on it yet. It could just be shedding the older leaves to grow new ones and new roots.

Depending on your location, the growth might be better in shade - if you are looking for really big leaves.

Pics of "dirt" can be deceiving but it looks like a hole was dug then filled with something from a bag? If so, that can create difficulties for the roots because moisture will have difficulty moving evenly between the different types. The added soil could stay much more moist or dry than the surrounding soil.

Hi Jmarie416, Welcome! from me too!

You didn't give a location of where you live (what part of the country) but your EE looks like maybe it's getting too much sun and not enough water. Maybe you could rig up a shade cloth somehow to protect it from the direct, hot sun for a week or so until it acclimates more to it's new home? And, don't forget that most EE's love water!
