Still one of the showiest reddish oranges in the garden. Visitors often ask for this one. Reliable.

Alabama Jubilee has been in our garden for four years. It is extremely showy. It has been slow to increase, but possibly because it doesn't get sun until noon or thereabouts. It does have some rust here, but the rust has not been severe enough to really damage the plant.

Does ok here in hot humid gulf coast Texas. I have rust;, this plant survives the rust, heat, and humidity well enough, and does re bloom here.

I acquired 4 fans of this cultivar in April of this year. I potted them up together and they are still in a pot. I have plans to transplant it into a raised bed this Fall. It began blooming a month later. It has the brightest and deepest color of orange blooms on any cultivar that I currently own. It is an eye-catcher!

It has not increased at this time, maintaining it's 4 nice-sized fans. Unfortunately, it is showing rust now that early Fall is here. I am seeing the rust starting on the tips on some of it's leaves and will be watching to see what rating it may actually be. I find that disappointing because it was listed to have a 1.0 rust resistant rating.

Alabama Jubilee is new to my garden this year. Transferring it over to my daylily bed in no way diminished this plant, it continued to bloom through it's cycle without missing a beat! The delightful, stand out, red-orange coloring is what drew me to this stunning daylily. I have not noticed any rust, and have been seeing new growth.

I walked by this plant today while deadheading and noticed that it had no blooms left and the scapes had dried up and were ready to turn loose so I thought it would be a good time to report on it. It had quite a few bad looking leaves so I decided to clean them up also.
I received this plant back on in April 2015, so it is just over two years old now. It had multiplied at a decent rate, but not really at a fast rate, but it is increasing some each year. It has bloomed each year I have had it.
Here is a photo back when it was blooming.

Here is a photo of it today, with no blooms left.

It had six dead scapes, they had 2 branches on every one of them and averaged only 8 buds per scape.

Here is the clump after it has been cleaned up a bit, it has 5 rebloom scapes.

The blooms are large on 'Alabama Jubilee' and they are bright so they grab a lot of attention, plus it is one of the first plants to greet me when I walk down to the bog bed.

Alabama Jubilee bloomed for me this year on June 25. I am not sure if that is more typical of it's bloom time. (It bloomed last year in August.)

Here are it's stats for this year:

I am a little disappointed this year with it's short scapes and low bud count. It also has not increased for me this year. I know sometimes it takes a plant several years to really settle in, so perhaps that is the situation with this one.

I originally planted two fans of what was sold to me as Alabama Jubilee in April 2019. As is true with many G Wild plants, this turned out to be something else, resembling a miniature Tuscawilla Tigress…could be a seedling. Not sure. It also blooms later.

However, in 2020, I tried again and this time they sent the right plant which bloomed this summer. I got six blooms this year, beginning July 8 and ending on July 20. Looks like it likes zone 6 so I'm assuming AJ will do better next year.

Alabama Jubilee has been a disappointment for me. I bought it because of its rust-resistance rating, but it has been such a rust bucket since I got it in 2020 that I have had to keep cutting it back, and I have never seen it bloom.

I can only assume that when it went through the rust tests, it wasn't exposed to the rust strains I have in my garden. That's been the case for other cultivars I've had as well such as Buttered Popcorn.

I am going to have to get rid of Alabama Jubilee. I'm sad because I love its color in pictures.

So, in 2022, after having AJ for 2 years, I got at least 36 flowers. I don't know the number of fans as I don't have a plant marker on it, so it gets mixed up with other Daylilies when not blooming. AJ bloomed from June 30- July 31, a good run. The color is an amazing saturated orange that holds its own, even next to a new plant like Disco Inferno.
