Today's plant of the day for Salvias is Little Leaf Sage (Salvia microphylla).

This plant can be found in the NGA Plant Database at:
Blackcurrant Sage (Salvia microphylla) .

Please join in, if you own this plant! We would love to know more!

Also, please consider adding a "Local Report" to the NGA Plant Database! Thank you!

@Marilyn - I wonder if this is what I have. These little, bright pink ones are hard for me to distinguish. And I don't remember, but will look, if I posted a picture of my plant. Grrr. Not fair that some are so similar. Saw some beauties at one of my favorite garden centers yesterday but don't know their names. Plan to go back.

Turns out that I did post my picture (well, not literally my picture) here on Oct.1 when I asked about iris roots possibly killing salvias. And I just called it Salvia greggii.
I think a squirrel musta ate the tag.

@tx_flower_child

Sometimes I have a hard time remembering if it's a greggii, microphylla or a jamensis salvia. They all seem the same.
