This bloomed today in a bed that I thought had entirely irises and daylilies. Any guess what it is?

I'm no iris expert but perhaps Iris domestica or Iris x norrisii are candidates.

Species X Iris (Iris x norrisii)

Species Iris (Iris domestica)

The third picture down on this page looks similar:

By the blooms, that sure looks likely, Sue! I wish I could see their foilage more clearly, though. Thanks!! You're on the track! Thank You!

I don't have either but looking on Google I would say that the foliage of x norrisii looks closer than domestica. I'll suggest moving the thread to the Plant ID forum.

Agree with Sue. Maybe Iris domestica (formerly Belamcanda chinensis) or Iris 'Norrisii (formerly Pardancanda 'Norrisii'). The flower color of hybrid one sometime so similar to species one.
