I occasionally do virtual walkabouts all over the world where google has street view. I like to see the gardens and the kinds of plants people from all over the world grow and how they grow them. Tonight I was in the Manila slums in the Philippines (I try to find the poor places in most countries I visit because I'm looking for the more common plants to whatever area I'm touristing in) and came across a plant that I think is a Bromeliad .. the picture is a screen capture, not great but I think there might be enough detail to perhaps identify this plant - at least I hope there is.

FYI - the plants I saw most during my walkabout were Sansevieria, Dieffenbachia, Schefflera and various banana and Bougainvillea. Pretty much everything is grown in containers too with very little bare ground available in this area.

Thats so much fun to do virtual travel... hehe

Those leaves with central vein looks not so bromeliad to me. Actually how the leaves arrange and the thinness of the leaves seems like artificial plant. Is it ?

It possibly could be artificial now that you mention it.

Looking at the leaves and how they come off the stem, I was thinking artificial.

I think you're right .. sigh.
