I planted this late summer 2016. The foilage looked great but hope to have great blooms in 2017. I wanted another late bloomer.

I received, if memory is correct a 3 fan gift of Regal Finale back in 2015. It was potted and remained that way until early fall of this year, when it was finally added to a border bed.

Lovely purple bloom but my stats have it performing less than what is listed on the site. I believe it to be due to its being potted and somewhat neglected. Although, since being planted, it's increase has been steady and I counted 10 fans emerging from the soil this morning.

I believe 2017 will have its performance up to par, and look forward to seeing it bloom again.

Although I bought Regal Finale in 2004, it was tucked away in a corner under a cedar tree, where the crows kept on tugging the name tags out of my pots. In 2014, at our new property, it made it's presence known, got re-identified, and became a star performer as a late bloomer, now getting its fair share of sunshine and regular watering.

This Daylily blossom has a luscious velvety texture to its petals. It has a rich, luxurious feel to it, and I love the inner starburst effect.

I just got so caught up in that last image, that I couldn't just return it to its Picasa folder. I was mesmerized by the inner workings of that last blossom - so I recropped it, to get closer inside of it. Then I put it up into the Database. Now I'll bring the larger image down here.
What is the magical spell that a flower can hold over you? It's like falling in love.
