Eating turkey dinner TV dinner for lunch but am going to go out and buy some hard taco shell and make home made tacos for supper.
Might make a batch of chilli too for the rest of the week as sub-zero weather is here.
It is five below right now and chilli goes good with those temps.

Sharon bought and they installed a new Samsung fridge today.
It has two fridge. doors and a bottom freezer.
I was there when she bought it and It looked good at Sears where she bought it but while the two door deal makes opening it easier, due to kitchen space, the layout in reality is definitely not better than the old one.
I will get used to it as if I complained about her choice I do not think Siberia would be far enough to escaper her wrath.

Eating Bear Creek chilli.
I do not recommend that one as without adding to it real bland. First time I bought a pre-mix that was salt and pepper free.
After doctoring not bad.

The chilli is perfect for this weather but I am not making it because I feel like cooking, I am cleaning out the pre-mix envelope part of the cupboard and some of the envelopes in there are over a decade old.
Now she will not miss ninety percent of them as she just keeps stuffing stuff in there and sometimes uses the ones on the outside as I said in a post months ago, I cleaned out some Jiffy mix boxes that were near a decade old back then.

So I am going to make two pans of beef loaf later one, two different brands and some creamy wild rice soup.
One nice thing about winter the porch can be used for cooked food storage, especially as her new fridge, as she found out last night is not a deep as the old one.
It is handy but I feel bad when I shopped with her I did not check feet cubed size.

My friend brought me a chicken from Costco. WOW!! Can't believe the size. A meal for an entire family.

Hi there. So a new 2017 dinner ... or I suspect by the title this will be a food in general... forum. I'll follow along.

In my 50+ years, I've never been on a diet. Science says burn more calories than you eat, and research has shown that breakfast is important. Once I get good at those things, I'm golden, something that has happened in my life. My problem of late is winter, and a broken heel not yet really fixed. This might be the year that I return to the gym.

Here, after eating through the leftovers, I had a right adult meal for one. A trimmed well-seasoned pork chop cooked under the broiler, along with sautéed broccoli, and potato half-moon slices (first par-zapped and then crisped). For the added treat, I breaded the trimmed pieced, seasoned and floured them, and fried 'em up. You know they were the best things on the plate. Merlot tonight, and a fire. Snow is due.

A simple Swiss steak cooked with tomatoes, carrots, onion and celery, over boiled potatoes, and sauteed snap peas with onion. Very tasty, DH was a happy man, meat and potatoes. Hilarious!

Rita..those chickens ARE HUGE.
Sandwich ...main meal, pasta addition and soup...all from one bird
Don't squat with yer spurs on!

People try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved

Rosie, I use blade, chuck or crossrib, whatever is on sale, I buy the roasts and cut into thick steaks, I don't bother pounding the flour into the meat, just dust it and brown it, add the other ingredients and into the over at low temperature for a few hours until nice and tender.

Sounds good, goat. I have never eaten wild hog, but I like most game so I would probably like it a lot.

Your not kidding!! I ate on it plenty last night and even gave some to Lily. We have more than half it it left. I see chicken soup in the crockpot being made after much of the meat is eaten up.

So not much snow overnight for us fortunately.

I never eat breakfast. I have had that problem all my life. I simply can not eat till I have been up for hours.

I do like breakfast type foods which I might eat for lunch or dinner.

I have always eaten breakfast, I don't eat anything after dinner so by 8:30am I am starving, but I usually keep breakfast and lunch small, save the calories for a decent dinner. Sticking tongue out

For me it's weird. I can go to bed really, really hungry and just wish I could eat. But I try never to eat late like 10 PM when I am thinking of food. Next morning, forget it. Nope, I am not hungry and only get hungry after being up for hours.
