I just stumbled upon this thread again. I never commented on anything when it was first made, so I wasn't following. Just had to play catchup. Was over here thinking, "man, no one has posted in 'what's for din din' in a while" D'Oh!

We had grilled chicken breast, brown rice, roasted corn, and grilled bell pepper. I ate mine with some HEB fresh made wheat tortillas, because I love carbs Whistling

It was a small batch of sauce, not one marathon with lots frozen...so just one big red one

The key to a red pepper sauce is the sugar and the cheese, got to keep tasting.

Welcome back, James. Good that you caught on.

Busy day of meetings. Lunch meeting saw a burger on the plate. Evening meeting was followed by Japanese takeout: tempura app of shrimp and veggies, plus a tuna roll, and a salad. Hit the spot. Oh -- I've been enjoying a lovely (and not particularly expensive) Sterling Pinot Grigio. Definitely recommended.

Thanks, Sean Thumbs up

I had a very long and full day as well as a late lunch, so I didn't have much of an appetite this evening. Matt ate a prepped salmon meal and I had two 6" wheat tortillas and some organic hummus dip. I think I'm mainly just too tired. Will probably be starving when I wake up.

Green beans..French style from a can.

It was the best I could do.
Took down the tree
Dryer died...FIXED it $62.37 ( do you know Sears has no parts dept anymore and sold the Craftsman line) watched you.tube and ordered a coil.

And so today was a zillion loads of laundry...done now...sigh...

Good info to know about Sears. My parents always prefer buying appliances from them. I'll have to research and see who has better service.

Rosie when we had the pizza shop we served a flounder platter and sandwich. I never ate it but my customers loved it, frozen from a box and deep fried Blinking

These were good... I may branch out and try more forms and fish. It was super nice to just toss it in the oven ..I was sure beat. Taking down the tree and putting everything away is tiring.

Leftover chicken in the onion sauce served over rice, and mashed rutabaga.

Sears does not have a service department anymore, they contract it out. Our dishwasher died a few years ago, we called the service department and they send a service guy from an appliance repair shop that we had been to previously looking for a part. Sears gets part of the service call charge, and it was very costly. Angry If it is no longer under warranty just find a good service shop yourself.

The world is changing. Be aware, brand names no longer have their previous meanings. Any company with enough money can buy any brand name and do with it what they want. My favorite example is the Frigidaire washing machine. Hey, for 10 years I did service calls on appliances. For many, many years the Frigidaire washing machine was revered because it had a patented (different) mechanism than all other washing machines. It just plain worked better. Then the biggest appliance business (White Westinghouse) bought the name Frigidaire. They immediately replaced that wonderful mechanism with their own = the same one used in all other washing machines. Lots of people still bought a "Frigidaire" washing machine because it had such a good reputation. Sigh. Gene

That is what they are really buying....the brand and the name the brand has....

Like a craftsman tool is way better than Stanley

But if I buy the name Craftsman, I can change where it is made and what it is made out of and of course quality control. In short I can do anything I want with that "Brand" name. Too often someone buys a good brand name just because they figured out a way of producing a product that looks like the original but with lower costs, more profit. Yes, brand names were very important years ago but perhaps no longer so. Now it is name recognition that counts. TV advertising. "Hey, I have heard of that brand." Too many people just assume that if the name is familiar it must be good. Gene

Exactly. What I was saying is the value to the acquiring entity is in the good name of the brand...that they can then weaken it is a mute point to them because by the time the cat is outta the bag, their investment is returned and a competitor eliminated.

Pea soup on this cold gloomy winters day! A huge pot full!
Some to eat some to freeze...with a thick crusty bread and a side salad.

It was once a honey baked ham..so I removed all that sweet sugar glaze first ...land used some alderwood salt to smoke it up a tad.

Just had a quick bite before what's sure to be a long evening meeting (yet another). Small frozen cheese pizza, cooked and topped with parboiled broccoli and more cheese, and back in the oven. Pepper flakes. Basic little thing but it was very tasty. And I have a bit for later should I return with an urge for more.

We saw the big melt today, and tree got down to the curb. Thumbs up

So, no cooking. I bought what they call Caesar Salad at the upscale market. It has so much chicken and very little salad really so I also bough those packaged salad mixes and will add to give me more greens.

For full disclosure in case anyone thinks I am doing so well being extra healthy with my food choices I also brought a seven layer cake!! Blinking
