Thread OP

I forgot to label these seedlings, does anyone know what they are? My best guess is either Saponaria Officinalis or Lychnis Viscaria. I know they are red and grow to about 30-45 cm. Any help would be appreciated

The leaves don't look right for either of them. They look more like geraniums or something. What do the leaves smell like. That might give a hint.

Correct spelling is greatly over-rated.

Not columbine, leaves are different.

They do look like geranium leaves to me also. Many self-seed readily.

I'd go with Geraniums as well.

To my old eyes they resemble the wild geraniums.

Definitely not Saponaria Officinalis. It resembles an herb, perhaps Cilantro or Parsley.

I will agree with the above comment from Zencat. Rub the leaf or crush one for a fragrance. That is usually the telling clue.

Interesting. I had to take a closer look.
What I can see in the image does not look like the cotyledons of either cilantro or parsley, but do look like geranium or pelargonium cotyledons.

May we ask what was the source of the seeds? Did you save them or buy them?

Wild Geraniums. The annoying weed ones. Hope you didn't get something expensive on Ebay.
