I grew some Forest Fire by seed last fall, and there is the brown -- I dont know... Mold?

I can wipe some of it off, and teh newer leaves dont have it. I tried googling Brown spots on Salvia and it came up empty.

I just zoomed in, and yikes, this looks nasty.

Any ideas?

are they too crowded in the pot, should I just pick the leaves off?

TIA.

@tcs1366 Terese

I've been trying to google your problem, but can't pinpoint what it is. I haven't had this problem before.

I'd pick the affected leaves off and throw those into the trash.

Maybe the brown spots are scales (scale can be soft or armored). Do you have the brown spots on the bottom of the leaves, as well as, the top?

How does the whole plant look overall?

@FBTS Kermit could you chime in about this please?

Just checked... not, bottom of leaves do not have this brown stuff, only tops and other than that... the plants seem quite healthy.

They are planted a few plants together, -- maybe they are too close and can't breathe?? (Not good circulation)

Yes, try giving them good circulation. I'm not sure what is wrong with those leaves. Blinking Confused

Looks to me like rust. My solution would be to dispose of the plant and start another. Rusts can be difficult to control.
