My Namesake grows and preforms well on the Alabama Gulf Coast. I don't know, but I think it would be tender in the far north because it has pretty thin foliage here. I grew and increased this daylily along with "ALDERSGATE" Temple 2005 and released them both the same year for Mr Temple. The thing I really like about "FRED MANNING" , it polys a lot and there is no other daylily bloom more awesome when it does.

Received this one as a gift plant from the namesake, thanks Fred,

It was placed in one of my beds only a few weeks ago and is starting to show new foliage. Can't wait for it to bloom, but will as any scape's will need to be cut so the plant has enough time to recover.

I'll look forward to more post about FM.
