This is a fairly early blooming tree peony.

Where did you get this beautiful tree peony? How many years?

I have had it for about 7 years. It was from an order to Van Bourgondien and was supposed to be Kamada Fuji. You know how many of the bulb companies just substitute without telling you. The blooms are huge. It has never been a really tall plant, but is not in an optimal location. I am wondering if it is Tachiyo-Tsubaki. Does anyone grow that one? My pic colors are quite accurate.

Do you mean 'Yachiyo-Tsubaki'? It doesn't look like Yachiyo-Tsubaki, the petals of Yachiyo-Tsubaki are smooth, don't have the ruffles as in your flowers. And Tachiyo-Tsubaki can grow tall.

It is really pretty. If you are on Facebook, the Planet Peony Group has a lot more people on it, and someone there may be able to identify it.

It could be TREE PEONY 'SHIMANE OTONE MAI'?

Thanks to all! Yes, I see that it cannot be Yachio T. Perhaps it is indeed Shimane Otone Mai. It is a very glowing color, which is the way Klehm's describes Shimane.
