I picked up some coleus about a week before Easter for outside planters then read on here that they are also grown as house plants. So I took 3 and put them in the glass planter in the 1st photo, 2nd is planter on my deck.
I thought they would grow better outside so just wondering why the grow bigger in the house both have no fertilizer used.

Those indoors are taller because they are stretching to receive more light. Those outdoors are receiving plenty of light, so their growth is more compact and lush. In this case, bigger isn't necessarily better. The taller indoor plants will end up having thinner, weaker stems if not given supplemental light or grown in a bright window.

They will also likely develop better color outside where they will stronger light - of course, this is subjective. "Better" depends on what you prefer.

Carter , that makes sense now that I think about it. This was as mostly a experiment to see what would happen if I grew them inside so the experiment was a success as I learned something. At some point I will give the space to something else and move them outside.

I would pinch the top leaves of the inside coleus and put them in a well drained pot outside. Coleus do not thrive with soggy roots. Pinching the first pair of leaves off promotes them to send out more stems and be a fuller plant.
