I have a new garden with all sorts of things growing that I have no clue what they are as a novice gardener. I rather suspect several are weeds since they are growing and spreading at a great rate. So here's one for starters. Help much appreciated

Hi and welcome, EPM! Your new garden might have a lot of established clumps of perennial plants that have been hiding underground until spring warmth wakes them up. They're not necessarily spreading or being invasive, let's hope!

I'm not sure what that lovely plant is, in your picture above, but if you could please fill in your profile with your location we'll have a much easier time identifying your plants. The little blue person in the upper right corner is where your profile is. We need more than just a zone, your city/state/country will give us climatic conditions.

My first thoughts on your plant was azalea or weigela but probably not. Can we get a picture of just the flower?

Your plant looks a lot like a Euphorbia, possibly Euphorbia griffithii, of which there are several named varieties in cultivation in Europe and North America.

I thought euphorbia as well. Re the profile thing, do that (or not) as you become more comfortable with the site. It can be helpful, but is not a requirement. Meanwhile, warm welcome from the Pacific NW.

Definitely Euphorbia griffithii.
Possibly Euphorbia griffithii "Fireglow.

Or another grown in UK with deeper red flowers is Euphorbia griffithii "Dixter."
Named after the well known garden at Great Dixter owned by Christopher Llloyd.

When happy they can be a bit invasive. But are rather gorgeous.

Thanks everyone for your advice and I think you have indeed identified the plant but for the removal of doubt and for Carol who wanted a close up of the flowers here's a further picture.
