I'd like to see how other people have their houseplants set up! Share your pictures!!

Below I've added how my house plants are set up! Give me any suggestions you have on how my set up could be more efficient.

Thumb of 2017-05-20/radishgirl/b8f283

These plants are about 1-4 feet back from a north-west facing window. They get prettt decent light but never direct sunlight except for maybe a little in the morning.

Thumb of 2017-05-20/radishgirl/f2a103

Thumb of 2017-05-20/radishgirl/d66d0d

These plants are almost directly in front of a south facing window. Depending on where they are on the shelf also determines how much light they get.

Thumb of 2017-05-20/radishgirl/276284

These plants are on the opposite side of the room from the south window, about 8 feet or so.

nodding please share your plants to this thread! I havent found any similar thread or I would have posted there. But hey, maybe I didnt look hard enough Sticking tongue out

Beautiful! As you live with your plants, they will tell you if they are getting enough light. Looks like you are having fun with them!

My plants are outside for the warm season. Here are a few recent pics.

Just now I am playing with Air Plants and have so much fun changing the way I display them every time I take them down to soak them....which is maybe once a month or longer since I mist them frequently. These plants are definitely great for young people and older people who are limited in their time and energy. Big Grin

Your plants look so healthy, Christine! I bet you are a user of Plant fertilizer! I should do more of that, but I found when I was growing plants to sell, I was so involved in keeping them pretty so I could charge a decent price, that I seldom fed my own houseplants..Got into a really bad habit.

It is like the Air Plants. I only soak them when I have nothing else to do, otherwise, I mist them and spray them with fertilizer once a month. I guess being almost 89 years old, this old lady is getting lazy. Or maybe just tired. Rolling on the floor laughing

Ladies, getting old is not fun. Especially when your mind is younger than your body. Today is another day when my old body just wants to sit still and I pray it keeps going until the end of the day. I strained my right side almost two years ago (every muscle from waist down) Could not walk for a month. I now use a cane and I am so frustrated I could scream. The off balance thing is the worst. The pain I can handle but not knowing if I am going to fall causes me anxiety and that causes me so many other nasty feelings. Enough of this ....back to the plants. I love peace lilies and have two of them but something is making them unhappy. The blooms are all green and seldom turn white. They do not bloom too often. I think maybe the one should have more light. Anyone know anything about peace lilies? Confused

JB, your an inspiration Lovey dubby I have found with my peace lily it likes to be somewhat root bound, I found that out the hard way when I re-potted it into a bigger pot and it hasnt bloomed in 2 years now.
I'm looking forward to see what our plant guru Tiffany has to say, the women is an endless source of knowledge Thumbs up

Also, check with the experts on the Aroids forum. I believe peace lily like elephant ears fit in that category. My uneducated guess is that the plant produces male and/or female flowers/spathes.

Christine, TY for the kind words but I promise, I'm no guru. If I was, I would do something to peace lilies besides kill them. It's on my list of plants that just don't seem to like me.

Watching forums for 2 decades and FB plant groups the past few yrs, I'm sure PL is the most asked-about struggling plant.

I have a ton of houseplants, plus plants growing inside the house which are not actually houseplants. I don't have pictures of most of them.

Here is a recently reworked pot of small succulents.

Thumb of 2017-06-06/Jai_Ganesha/258c50

And here is the foliage of my Fittonia.

Thumb of 2017-06-06/Jai_Ganesha/2112d6

I also have a pot of Amaryllis that is over 4 feet wide. This weekend if it is bright enough and I remember, I will try to take pictures.
