For the past several years I've used the daylily database pretty much daily. It's invaluable to me as a hybridizer for several reasons but, most importantly, it allows me to see a cultivar in multiple garden situations instead of having to rely solely on the often-doctored photo by the hybridizer or professional grower.

I would like to search the database for blooms with appliques. Could you please add that option under "Bloom Traits." Please include both spellings, i.e. "applique" and "appliqué." Many thanks--Larry

It would be nice to have applique listed as a check box in the Bloom Traits. For now if you type applique into the color description box you'll bring up 240 daylilies. I have spent a lot of time removing the accent code from the color description of daylilies with appliques as it is currently the only way to search for them. Trying to remember the accent code and typing applique with it into the color box gets rather annoying, my memory isn't keyed in to codes and most folks don't know about the code.

I just tried a few searches with this and pulled up nothing, should it be working now?

I only added the option as a checkbox, nothing more. Currently no plants have it checked off.

That would require an update to my code but I will see what I can do.

Dave, will the change to code pick up the 240 with applique currently in the color description or will these need to be edited?

Also a bit side topic....what happened to the image thumbnails in the daylily database when doing a Search By Characteristics? Having the thumbnail images is very helpful when searching various characteristics.

And I added the thumbnails back in.

I'm glad to say that the code has been updated and all the daylilies that have the word "applique" in their color description has automatically had that checkbox checked off.
