As a comment about Lantana camara Luscious® Citrus Blend, Marilyn wrote:

This is the second or third year I have been growing this variety of Lantana and it's my favorite of all the Lantana varieties! The colors are eye-catching and beautiful! Of all the Lantanas I've grown over the years, this one grows the best!

It is a fast grower and is always producing vibrant flowers, which are a mixture of red, orange, and yellow and attract butterflies and hummingbirds. When the seeds are ripe, they're attractive to songbirds. I try to keep the flowers deadheaded so that the plant can keep producing flowers.

This Lantana has won many awards.

Thread OP

I have just posted a closeup of a flower -- they are indeed spectacular. However, I am somewhat disappointed with Lantana in general. As you pointed out, they are unruly growers which would not be so bad were it not for their "thorns" and lack of flowers. They do not show up well from the distance. Coupled with that, they have been a favorite of my local deer population this year.

I've never noticed thorns on Lantana before. What thorns are you referring to?
