So how long do "Recent Threads" get updated, or is it any time I use the refresh button?

And, what "Threads" are included in "Recent Threads".

As long as there are new replies or it is a brand new thread being started, it is refreshed each time the page is refreshed. As far as what is included, I believe it is every thread in the entirety of this wonderful site.

Thanks James @JamesAcclaims, but I was looking for a Ursula (don't want to give any further details for sake of privacy) in the Sandbox threads and I didn't see the thread come up in New Recent Threads when and after I refreshed a couple times.
Sincerely,
Teresa

Yes, not the correct state, and her last name starts with S. Thanks for replying! @ursula

And never mind the other question about threads. It's just that so many people are posting and before I didn't see the 'continue with new threads' link and sure enough the it was actually there but so low on the list I didn't first see it.

Glad you found what you were looking for! Usually at this time of day, there is quite a bit of traffic, so it makes sense that it got buried quickly. Happy November to you as well!

@JamesAcclaims very funny saying!!!!!!! Rolling on the floor laughing

But . . . be careful, because in my Book, pigeons are kosher. And, they were used for sacrifice. Perhaps you will want to become an eagle or a buzzard.

I can't mark this thread as solved or finished or whatever the proper term?

Solved or finished is only available on Plant ID forum, however, I can edit your header to reflect that.

Sandbox threads don't show up in the "Recent threads" on the home page. I've asked Dave about that before. He said that they are intentionally excluded because they are off the topic of gardening and, therefore, don't need to take up the important home page space.

I think what happened in my situation in that my thread started in "All Things Plants". Then because the topic became more of Facebook instead of my own plants or plants in general or gardening, the thread was *moved* to the "Sandbox". Thumbs up

Because I actually scrolled down and saw the thread in the 'Recent Posts' and it was listed as "Sandbox" forum.

So perhaps if a thread starts in a catagory (sp?) thread that is first updated in 'Recent Posts', that it might still show up in 'Recent Posts'? Was I seeing things? I didn't test and see tonight while posting how far down it would let me scroll.

So I just went and looked, and if you look at the 'Recent Threads' at the end of it is a link to continue on with 'Recent Threads'. If you look at that you will see that there are 'Sandbox forum' threads included. I think it's just that the other threads have so many more posts of recent that perhaps new threads are not often started in the 'Sandbox'.

Perhaps also, Dave made a change and started including the 'Sandbox' in the recent forums update. I'm glad because I like the 'Sandbox' too.

Nice. I don't normally utilize the recent threads unless in all caught up or just being nosy. The sandbox being included is nice, since I mainly live there.

I think it is only excluded when viewed on the homepage.
