Bitsy is still loaded with buds despite the cold temps. This pic was taken yesterday Nov 1st.

Genesta still have many buds that is waiting for warmer temps. Look closer and you can see the mini buds forming.

I have had daylilies bloom well when the scape is cut and brought indoors and put in water.

Too bad about yours, Ginny.

I can't believe I had a bloom today. I got Big Bill from MP Flower Garden in September. It bloomed for me today. It has another scape as well. It struggled in the 40 degree weather, but a bloom is a bloom!

Poor little Yellow Bouquet had a scape on it. I cut it and brought it indoors before the deep freeze hit yesterday, but I don't think it is mature enough to bloom. Weird to have a scape in November!

Yes, Pat, a bloom is a bloom! Congrats on your November bloom on Big Bill Hurray!

There's A Place did manage to bloom a few more blooms when I cut the scape and brought it inside, however, not pretty enough for pictures. But, one did make it and here it is:

This picture taken outside, seems to show a little more color. I am sure when it blooms next year, it will look quite different from this.

'Whip City Dapper Dan'. The scape was growing well when we had an overnight freeze in October. I wasn't sure what to expect after that. You can see the canna foliage behind to gauge how the freeze effected some things. It's raining oak leaves now Smiling It promptly got warm again and the scape kept growing and though some daylilies are showing definite signs of shutting down for the winter, this one is not. But the first two buds have had to contend with some really cool temperatures. I took this photo this afternoon, but I think it might be the 2nd day for the bloom. It actually finally managed to open before sunset yesterday. I think the stiff breeze was making it worse for the photo. The first bud took three days to open and two days to die to the stage you see in the photo. Cool temperatures are not something the daylilies usually experience during bloom events here, not even the later rebloom scapes. It's supposed to be warmer for some of the subsequent buds if the forecast doesn't change, so maybe they will get a chance to open normally. Whether due to the freeze or cooler weather, the color is more yellow than for a normal bloom. I'll just have to watch those later buds.

Today was the second flower on Jack Romine's tetraploid miniature, Millie's Kitchen.

It's a little "tight" because of the cool weather, but much closer to normal than the large flowers which are trying to bloom.

I will take both of those Hurray!
With the record breaking 18* fahrenheit a couple days ago, everything froze still in time. Just waiting for three pods on Genesta to mature and call it a wrap. A couple days near fifty in a couple days is expected. Multiple scapes on Bitsy = the first and the last to bloom in 2017. Spotted one on Stella's Sparky when I harvested some seeds. 2018 come on down Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

Waiting to see if the one scape on Happy Returns will bloom--the weather here is pretty mild, so there is a chance blooms may occur.

Late scapes on Fistful of Dollars have been blooming for a week or so, but today is the first time that the weather has allowed it to open halfway decently. It's a strange character—it blooms so early in the spring that the quality isn't that great (here, at least), and it "repeats" so late in the fall that they aren't their best either.
Thumb of 2017-11-13/CaliFlowers/983a3c
It's a pretty flower when the weather's right. Regarding the rebloom, I think it takes after pollen parent tet. Stella de Oro in that the fall bloom is not exactly "classic" rebloom, I think these are scapes on the new fans that have grown over the summer after the extra-early spring flower cycle.

Lovely blooms Ken. This time of the year most of us will appreciate most blooms. According to" Admad " the new fans blooming is considered rebloom.

This picture of Screamcicle was taken around 11:00 yesterday. The sepals are feeling the chill; 'green', stiff and pointy, but otherwise it's pretty good considering the weather, and it really brightened up when the sun hit it.

Two blooms on 'Whip City Dapper Dan' today. It lucked out, though. The wind was so awful yesterday I thought the scape wasn't going to survive yesterday - even after putting a couple of stakes on it. So I ended up lugging the pot into the garage where it is warmer, without wind and that resulted in an escape from an unexpected white frost that settled on things last night. It's back outside now. I'm wondering if there's going to be a bloom on Thanksgiving Day.
