Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Endless Heart')

Endless Heart also loosely being called Earlybird Cardinal is a evergreen that is one of the first three flowers to bloom in my Z: 5 garden. Very floriferous between spring and summer. Increases very well. Has a nice red four inch flower. Reblooms in my garden. I have four clumps of it around the garden. Sets pods easily. One of many Mr D. Apps plants that does well here.

I get very close to registered data for this cultivar although the better scapes have 20+ buds and 4 way branching. Cultivar clumps nicely and sets pods without human intervention

This plant was sold to me by Gilbert Wilds in 2014 as "Earlybird Cardinal" and there is an entry in the database here at NGA for both "Earlybird Cardinal" AND for "Endless Heart" separately. They are both the same plant, correct? I did not see any mention of the shared name when I looked up Earlybird Cardinal to add it to my have list. Shouldn't there be a note on that page that it is also knows by another name?

@Frillylily they are one in the same. Mr Apps refer to it on Facebook using both names. Earlybird Cardinal is considered the trade name that is being used to mass market it to the public. And the beat goes on. Maybe @Char can elaborate on the two database entry which as you suggested should come with footnote of some sort.

The Earlybird Cardinal database entry does show "not registered" with AHS. Although, and this is a big although at this point, the entry is showing strangely due to the new updates made to the website last week. There are "bugs" being worked on and the database has some that may not be found right away. @Calif_Sue
That said, if you scroll down to plant events from members you will see the Jan 1, 2022 comment from Frillylily. You can submit a request to edit the data for a plant by scrolling down on the Earlybird Cardinal database page to "Edit Plant Details", fill in the info and submit your request. I agree, there should be a "also sold as" note in the plant data for both plants.

I'm going to add the trade name to the registered name, then delete the unregistered name after I move all the photos over.

What did you mean by "the entry is showing strangely"? If you mean the section that usually has the ADS link, where it had written "not registered", I fixed that. That section is set up to only accept a URL so writing anything other than a link doesn't work and I apparently did that back in 2013, just fixed it (doesn't really matter as it soon will be deleted)

OK, I added the Earlybird Cardinal to the Also Sold As section for Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Endless Heart') so anyone now searching by that name will get the correct registered entry now. I moved over all the photos from EC and deleted that entry.

I like the idea that the database automatically shows Endless Heart when typing Earlybird Cardinal in. I do wonder if someone not as familiar with the database will figure out to click on Endless Heart and then see the Also Sold As. It took me a bit to figure out where that had been moved to and I've been here for ....we'll just say a long time

I commented on the site update thread that the 'Also Sold As' was missing and Dave pointed out where it was now located. (need to make sure coffee has kicked in before commenting )
It used to be right at the top but with all the updates this week, it's now on the right side, well, at least on my laptop. He's trying to accommodate all devices.
