Either I've acquired a nagging sense of my own mortality or I've finally realized that enough is enough, but this is the first time in more than 30 years that I haven't ordered any roses. I'll just have to live vicariously through the rest of you, so tell me what you've ordered.

I am a nutcase gardener, verging on (potential rubber room status), one man operation, nothing else to spend my money on except good wine (California, Chile, Australia in that order). Modern roses are one of my passions - and you have to order in Fall for bare-root delivery in Spring. Here is what I have already ordered:

(1) "Julia Child" from Palantine, yellow, (first time trying)
(1) "Desmond Tutu from Palantine, red, (first time trying)
(2) Climber "Golden Gate" from Palantine, yellow. (best yellow I have ever grown-disease free)!
(2) Climber "Florentina Arborose" from Palantine. (very impressive red, always in bloom, hardy!)
(2) HT. "Grande Amore" from Palantine. ( unbeatable red, hardy, stunning.)
(4) HT. "Harry Wheatcroft (from local nursery ordered through Panamnurseries- beautiful)
(8) GF. "Sunshine Daydream" from immediate above source. Beautiful, hardy, disease free!
(6) Shrub Rose, "Pink Carpet" from Costco. No hardier, more beautiful shrub available-none!
(6) Shub Rose, "Amber Carpet" from immediate above source.
(6) Shrub Rose, "Appleblossom" from immediate above source.
Well, that's what I have ordered in Roses for 2018. But just in case, I will check wallymart/Home Depot, etc. with "discretional rose monies" to spend in the Spring. Please "comit" me. LOL.

No new orders for me this year unless one doesn't survive winter. Now getting some through work because I can't resist the color is a whole other story but I'm hoping I behave this year. Hilarious!

I'll most likely be moving my garden this spring, so I didn't order any new roses this winter. (Fall planted bare root roses do best here). My new garden will be significantly larger than my current one and I plan to have a rose garden as well as roses in the mixed borders, so this fall I will start ordering 'a few' roses to get things started. We have not finalised the deal yet, but I have garden plans and plant lists ready and have been looking at a lot of catalogues. It's been a while since I last felt like a kid in a candy store! Big Grin

Milestone - almost certain it will fail; still I wish to learn how
Wedding Bells - so many of the newer HTroses have forgotten how to scroll those long petals. It is IMO, the raison d'etre for the whole class.
Savannah Sunbelt. - on Carol's recommendation, and P. Kukielski's.
Dark Desire — will it really turn out to be that sultry dark burgundy in flower? Stay tuned. Maybe this time I will not stumble over the plant, snapping it off at the bud union.
Plum Perfect Sunbelt — seemed like a good idea at the time
Bliss Parfuma — the promise of a good nose gets me every time
Salita —there is a fence that could benefit..
Roberta Bondar — had it. It died. Should know better, perhaps
Brothers Grim FT — if it grows as well as Caramella, it could be one of the best in the stretch of garden it's targeted for
Sally Holmes — I loved it in NJ. Need a flowering shrub to hide a utility structure..
August's Renoir - perfect HT form..

From Regan
Francis Meilland - another Kukielski's rec. I need more HT roses that can endure my gardening practices.
Pope John Paul II - for the third time... must protect from rabbits.
Miss Congeniality - tripped up by the marketing photo... can it be anything like that? Almost certainly not
Paradise - to replace one I moved poorly
Olympiad - must protect from deer...
Judy Garland - Few roses possess the persistence of this one, and I'm a total sucker for red-blush on yellow roses.
Sunny Sky - Still searching for that perfect golden yellow rose with the cast iron constitution. The race will be between this and Autumn Sunset which got a one year head start.

Luscious list, Steve. I hope Sunny Sky does better for you than for me in (2 plants in PA) and my daughter (1 plant in MD). Winter Sun did SO much better for me (2 fabulous plants in PA), all planted in the spring of 2017. All were own-root plants from Chamblee's. I had high hopes for Sunny Sky based on Peter Kukielski's description. Perhaps it will settle in and do better in its second year.

I am truly grateful for your sentiments, Lilli. I'm betting that a few of them will survive. Those that do will be treasured all the more for the fact that we have endured one or two more punishing growing seasons together.

Stever812. "Olympiad is one of my favourite reds, but I keep them planted in an unheated greenhouse. So many now, I can cut over a dozen at a time for the Table. "Roberta Bondar" named after Canad's first female astronaut, has a beautiful yellow/gold bloom, but once only in a season for me. Brothers Grimm, can't kill them but they are not worth keeping alive. LOL.

My computer skills are ALL a result of my joining this forum. Still a lot to learn to keep up with all the info on this site. Rolling my eyes.
After my laptop died last month, I was gifted with a new one. Ugh, I still keep trying. Still haven`t figured out the remote for the new T.V. (also a gift).
I was also given a Nikon D7500. What are these people thinking? Confused
I just want to garden. I ordered 57 roses. Lovey dubby
I`m a dirt sign. I live to play in the dirt. Roses, Asiatic Dayflowers, roses, Blue Vervain, roses, Jacobs Ladder, roses, etc.
So for now I`ll closely watch all the wonderful pic`s everyone here post and earnestly continue to master my tec. skills, in between squishing rose slugs, aphids, etc.

Thank you all for your patients and support. You`re the best!
