This is a picture of my last amaryllis flowering. It had a hole in the stalk but that didn't seem to hurt it any. It is now flowering with 8 blooms, 2 stalks, on it. Question. I did cut the stalk off another one and plan to repot the bulb. Hopefully repotting may get rid of the pest. The brown marks on the stalk are supposed to be some sort of virus. I don't know what to do about that. Any suggestions?

That looks very nice. I question your diagnosis of a virus. The symptoms aren't quite what I would expect. A bad virus infection causes striping on the leaves, which I don't see in your photo.There is no effective treatment for viruses, and those bulbs should be discarded. However, if bulb mites are causing the spots on the scapes , it doesn't look bad enough to discard the bulb.

Thanks for the info. The small spots aren't that bad and only at the top of the stalk. I think I'll still repot after flowering and see if that helps any. Out of the 3 I was given, this one is the nicest red.

I agree with Barbara that there is no photo evidence of a virus or any pests. So many things can go wrong when you repot that I don't recommend it unless it is truly necessary and it doesn't seem to be in this case.

Is there a specific pest that you have seen or suspect?
