This ordinary succulent has a large flowering growth extending out from near its center. Is this part of the plant or another species that might need to be removed?

Those are not Haworthia flowers. I think it might be an Aloe.

Very pretty plant! It looks like an aloe gasteria hybrid that I also have. My plant is also sending out its bloomstalk right now. As the weather warms up some more and with more light those blooms will show even more.
