I need some "sage" advice. I have tried to grow various members of the salvia genus, mostly the culinary type but ornamental types to, and it always dies. My neighbors can grow it easily so it's not a climate issue. There's no spots or visible pests. It starts growing like a healthy plant should but then it begins to desiccate beginning with the older leaves until the entire plant is just a dried husk. The leaves don't shed. Extra watering doesn't help and neither does skipping over it when I water. I've almost reached the conclusion that salvias simply aren't in the cards for me. Help!
