Happy first day of spring! I hope it's more spring-like where you are than it is where I am. Pretty cold in Ottawa, but sunny and the snowbanks are slowly disappearing even if it is cold.

If you want to look back on winter, you'll find it at: The thread "Support for a Healthy Lifestyle in Winter 2017 - 2018" in Sandbox forum

Here's a teaser of things to come.

It's not spring-like in Cincinnati, either, Ann. We have a winter storm warning for 1 to 3 inches of snow by tomorrow. Grumbling

I didn't really exercise today but I did change the bed sheets, clean the second floor, and did 2 loads of laundry. Next up, cooking dinner.

The crocus are beautiful. My poor crocus are trying to bloom but not doing so great in this nasty March weather.

Not very Springlike here either. Nasty snow storm on it's way and gonna start soon.

I did take my dog Lily on an exercise walk earlier this afternoon.

Partly cloudy, in the high 30's, and kinda windy. I made a batch of bagels. I was hungry for something of substance to gnaw on that was user-friendly............bagels it is. 14 calories, 2 g. carb, and 0 g. of both protein and fat.

14 calories and 2 g. carb? What's in them??? Or are they the size of a dime? Hilarious!

Nope, they are nice sized (if you are able to divide the dough equally............LOL)

1 1/2 cups water
4 tsp. yeast
1 T. salt
3 1/2 cups flour

That's it. Makes 12.

A cup of flour is around 92 grams of carb, right?

I use MyFitnessPal........they have a "recipes" section where you put in the ingredients and amounts and the number of "servings" and it calculates the macros.

I use that too, Anna. I just tried to enter that recipe and it calculated carbs in 3.5 cups of flour at 26 carbs, when it should be 322!

1 cup = 92 carbs

3.5 x 92= 322 total carbs

322/ 12= 26 g. carb per bagel

It also calculates total flour calories at 123, but flour has 455 calories per cup.

3 x 455 calories = 1595 total

1595 / 12 = 132 calories per bagel.

I hate to break your bubble but these might break your diet. (If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is...)

Yup...........my coach also admitted it was an incorrect entry in MFP. I told her that I'd probably be better off using pencil, paper, and my "Food Bible". Really torqued me off...............oh, well..........tomorrow is another day. I have it RIGHT now in my recipes. I don't see how they can have those incorrect entries in a log where people are supposed to track stuff. Grumbling

I agree! Though I use that tool too and I've never thought it did anything that obviously "off".

Speaking of bagels, have you ever tried the 2 ingredient dough that's all over the internet? I haven't yet, but I plan to. People make bagels, pizza dough, pretzels...

You can improve those bagels by using whole wheat flour. And reduce the salt - 1 Tbsp salt for 3.5 cups of flour is a LOT! (over 500 mg/bagel) Do you boil them before baking?

No exercise walk for me today because it is snowing. I hate the stuff and we are supposed to get at least 12 inches.

It's supposed to be Spring but not happening.
