I grew this one for many years. It was one of the darkest ones that I grew. I reached its registered height. It increased well. The only reason that I got rid of it was that it would be splotchy at times. Mine always looked like the first picture (more of a black red).
It had no problems in my zone.

Not much I can say about this one.
It's hasn't performed to well here, but it's still fairly new to my garden and it needs to be moved to a new spot. that it kicks into to high gear soon.
I bought this one last summer, planted in the fall. It settled in and survived the winter. Hope it continues to survive the spring! And I'm glad to see the green popping up. This is one of only a couple really dark daylilies that I have.
Bravery is not being unafraid. Bravery is being afraid and living life anyways.
Smith Brothers was my very first named daylily It has grown very well for me in the three years I have owned it. It is a beautiful near black in my zone 5b and never disappoints. I have not noticed any splotchy patches and it sets pods well.
I received Smith Brothers from Carl Harmon of Harmon Hill in June of 2023. I got 4 fans and that is what it still was in October. Looking forward to seeing this one next season. As Carl lives an hour north of me, there shouldn't be any climate issues for this cv.
