Anybody grow this one? I have a thing for yellow tea noisettes and sometimes I get one on impulse. I assume it's climbing but how big? How hardy? How do you like it? There's very little about it at HMF.

Mine does not climb. She forms a loose shrub. Hardiness is not an issue here, but she is not doing well as the leaf cutter ants keep denuding her.

The ARE rose is described as being pink, so I'm wondering what color is your rose?

There were two roses from the late 19th century named 'Madame Carnot', and neither was described as being pink, so I'm wondering where the pink rose fits into the equation?

I looked up a few more old references and added them to HMF, but found nothing to suggest either rose had pink tones. The Moreau-Robert Noisette is described as golden-yellow or orangey, while the Pernet Tea is described as being a creamy yellow.

If you have any photos of blooms, I'm sure I'm not the only person who'd like to see them.

Best regards,
Virginia

I do not have any pictures. My Madame Carnot came from the Antique Rose Emporium and is definitely pink. Is it possible that they are selling some other rose?

Our database describes the 1889 noisette as a yellow blend, but our photo of it is pink, and I added a comment five years ago to warn that the ARE rose probably is mislabeled.

Thanks, everyone. Yes, mine came from ARE but it's new, still in a pot and hasn't bloomed yet. If everyone else's is pink then I'm betting that mine will be too. I'm disappointed but I'm even more curious. I wonder what this rose really is? Porkpal, you say your rose doesn't climb. If you don't mind my asking, how long have you had yours? I wonder if it might not really be a tea?

I wonder if ARE had the wrong 'Carnot' in mind when they named their rose. Perhaps it's 'Mme Cunisset-Carnot' instead.

I found that while looking at the rose below.

Thanks, Christopher. It would have been good to know before I ordered it but at least I know where I need to plant it.

Well, I'm glad I checked here first. Thanks, everyone.

Christopher, the rose at the NGA plants database definitely looks like the photos of Mme Cunisset-Carnot at HMF.

Well-spotted!

I added that Photo from the Antique Rose Emporium, forgot to add the credit so just corrected that.
I do think you may be right, that the photo I added actually could very well be Mme Cunisset-Carnot.
If everyone agrees, I can move it over to that entry.
