Wow Jillz, they are gorgeous!

This is Crowning Light, new last year but didn't bloom. It's a very sweet, softer pink than my camera (phone) records.

My first wave of blooms is finished, but this morning I found rebloom scapes on 24 of 80 daylilies. More will come and, while not as beautiful and lush as May, it will be beautiful! High temperatures have stopped rust and the plants have totally recovered!

There are so many lovely daylily blooms here that I can't even keep up with comments! I love the spiders, the full faced blooms, the ruffled beauties, the eye patterns, so many to drool over .... And the photography sure is excellent as well!

Can you imagine having fields of daylily cultivars? Wouldn't that be heaven to walk down row after row after row to see all these beauties in person. That would surely be heaven on earth!

Here we are starting July today! I can't believe that June is already over. I still have scapes coming up! Which is unusual for me. I have had a lot of rain over the past 2 months, so that may be why. Water, water, water with some fertilizer seems to be the answer here.

Here are some of my cultivars currently blooming this week (June 25 - July 1):

I don't know what extended bloom means. Does it mean that the plant takes it's time producing blooms? Like slow motion production over weeks? If so, that is Fol de Rol. It mostly produces a single bloom every other day. Even though the blooms are long spidery petals, they always seem to open and display the pattern in such a lovely way. My only complaint about this cultivar is the scapes are thin and can lean (sometimes too much)! It is also hard to set pods on it, but I have used the pollen with success.:

And one of my favorite small bloom daylilies that is currently reblooming with 1 scape and 3 more scapes on the way! This is a wonderful, rust-free cultivar with 3-way branching and lots of blooms! I've used it a lot this year for hybridizing.

same bloom after sun (maybe 30 minutes later. Does the sun activate some pigments later than others? Do some pigments take longer to express themselves? Shrug! )
