Greeting everyone!!! I am New to these forums, and this is also the first year I have sucessfully grown any roses at all...after 2 long years of trials &tribulation! Needless to say I'm beyond thrilled to be able to finally share my babies...
UNKNOWN HYBRID TEA
(Own root)
from a cutting my neighbor gifted me last summer! Literaly stuck a pruned can in the ground paired with a small trellis, then left it alone until this spring. After copious amounts of water and minimal weeding/fertilizing I was stunned a few weeks ago when this thing shot up a delectable plump bud on a single stem of fresh new growth. 2 more have follwed. My rose enthusiast neighbor is much pleased that I have sucessfully propagated his precious plant! Cant wait to see it "leap" next year
DOUBLE KNOCKOUT
(Bodybag bareroot purchased on sale at HomeDepot this year late in growing season. For being in the ground mere months it produces the best largest blooms I have)
UNKNOWN PINK ROSETTE
(Own root cutting)
rooted in water from flower I pinched at a local public greenway this past MAY!!!. I root all cuttings on a patio in shade. The instantaneous long roots this thing put out shocked me. 3 months later it is creeping and blooming! I'm debating whether to transplant it into a patio pot right now, or leave it in the shade and let it mature til next growing season? She Is currently set in her original plastic container on top of compost within the patio pot- basking in full sun; & seems to be content there as well!)
WOLLERTON OLD HALL
( David Austen Ausblanket)
Purchased this past April from a local nursery. It is a delightful shrub that has yet to bore me! The blooms are beautiful and very delicate...almost too delicate. While the color is not very consistent it can look "splotchy" at times and the cut flowers wilt quickly- this is my favorite!!! With Plentiful flushes of daily flowers to look at,it grows vigorously and easy to train. If only the pests didn't love it as much as I do
EASY ON THE EYES
(Bareroot Weeks Rose) purchased online from Gurney's, delivered as part of their "Rainbow of Roses" collection - a random sampling of 5 roses in red+yellow+orange+purple+pi k....Planted this past easter! It is a small compact& neat bush. Doesn't require much besides water , and with each flush this summer the petals of the blooms seem to have gotten fuller and more gorgeously luscious
CUPID'S KISSES
(Bareroot WeeksRose)
Patio Climber that has really taken off since being potted on easter day. I hope that it will eventually overwhelm the ancient dead bush anchored and stuck next to my front door. Loves to be deadheaded, rewards daily with fresh buds of sweet rich "cerise" hot pink bursts of color. Perfection except for the slugs it attracts
RED RIBBONS
(Bareroot groundcover WeeksRose)
