Hi everyone.
I'm wondering what your favorite rose bushes are right now. Pictures are most welcome.

So what's doing well in my rose garden right now are:

1. Oklahoma. This rose is a new rose this year. The blooms are almost black. There's just a little bit of fragrance right now. The real color is much darker than the pictures show.

2. Zaide.

3. Nicole Carol Miller

4. Young Lycidas

Thumb of 2018-08-17/Canadian_Rose/9ce5b8

5. Tahitian Sunset

A lot of my star roses are prepping another set up buds. My Grand Dame has over 50!
So right now, what are your star roses?

Beautiful colors, great scent and seems so far to bloom continuously, though it is new to me

Also new to me but seems to always be covered in these awesome blooms. My photo doesn't capture it correctly. It has a lot more dimension in the coloring in real life.

Beautiful pics everyone! I'm at work and don't have real recent pics, so will post some later.

Carol I love your YOUNG LYCIDAS! I almost ordered him last yr, but decided not to. Don't see him much tho. Maybe that's why I didn't order him. Not enough pics to really entice me. But yours is really beautiful!

Jim - a friend of mine wants roses that bloom and bloom...I'll let her know about Earth Song! Thank You! I love the picture you took of it! Is it my imagination, or have you bought more tonka trucks? nodding

Carla - gorgeous pictures! I always thought that JFK wouldn't have fragrance at all...but you say it has a great fragrance. Thanks for the info! Your Disneyland is scrumptious!! I love big, bold colors. I, also, have a brand new LEH...it had such a bad root system, that I wasn't even charged for it. LOL But it's starting to come along. The very first bloom's fragrance blew me away...but then after that I couldn't smell any fragrance from it. Now there are about 6 buds that are going to open soon.

Beth - I'm not sure if you should order it based on my recommendations. LOL This is its 2nd summer, and it's still only about 1 foot tall. All of July I kept cutting it back so that the blooms don't face plant in the soil. Now, FINALLY, the blooms are facing upward. Now, I love it...but will I have to spend all next early summer cutting it down again? Not sure.

Hi Carol,

Yeah it has a very nice fragrance. It would probably bloom better but I seriously neglect it. I'm planning on moving it to a better spot with more sun eventually. LEH is very pretty! I still have it in its nursery pot but I bought a five gallon so I'm going to wait for cool weather to plant it.
Disneyland Rose is awesome, it's also still in its nursery pot but still blooms like crazy! I hope when your new buds open they gift you with lots of nice fragrance! Smiling

Yeah, it finally posted. I tip my hat to you.

Carol , I love your roses
Finally, I get to see them. They are gorgeous and I would love to see so many blooms 50 sounds great.
Jim your roses are always dead beautiful with your Tonka trucks.
Oh, dear , I am trying to remember another name ..I think it is Carly since I can't scroll up the thread to see remarks, names of roses or owner. I absolutely love them all.
Mine are still babies some are 7-8 months and others are lesser than 6. Love to see them grow big in a few years and that I can't wait. Hurray!

Sorry, learned from mistakes. Somehow, I double posted but it is good thing because I wanted to add Kristen.
Kristen, I did see your thread but I could not respond to you at Houzz. Yes, I love Sophy's. It blooms continuously here for me.
At first they were kinda stingy but give them time then they won't stop. L D. Braithwaite is the same way. Now, they are just competing with Heritage , Evelyn and Molineux

I am doing this just for you. I will post more pics of Sophy's pls excuse my mess. I realized how powerful this zoom is. Hmm :)
I know that you love the color.

Faded bloom still holds the color. ( Old bloom in my hand) My Roses are in direct sun all day long.

Stan, you have 2 beauties. Very nice.
Jin, thank you for the beautiful Sophie pictures. I do love that color.
I think I will do a row of 3 and one area of the bed is deep enough to put one rose behind one of the Sophies. I just ordered a white Whirlaway that could work. Thank You!

Greeting everyone!!! I am New to these forums, and this is also the first year I have sucessfully grown any roses at all...after 2 long years of trials &tribulation! Needless to say I'm beyond thrilled to be able to finally share my babies...

UNKNOWN HYBRID TEA
(Own root)
from a cutting my neighbor gifted me last summer! Literaly stuck a pruned can in the ground paired with a small trellis, then left it alone until this spring. After copious amounts of water and minimal weeding/fertilizing I was stunned a few weeks ago when this thing shot up a delectable plump bud on a single stem of fresh new growth. 2 more have follwed. My rose enthusiast neighbor is much pleased that I have sucessfully propagated his precious plant! Cant wait to see it "leap" next year Crossing Fingers!

(Bodybag bareroot purchased on sale at HomeDepot this year late in growing season. For being in the ground mere months it produces the best largest blooms I have)

Thumb of 2018-08-20/Pootboot/b59175

UNKNOWN PINK ROSETTE
(Own root cutting)
rooted in water from flower I pinched at a local public greenway this past MAY!!!. I root all cuttings on a patio in shade. The instantaneous long roots this thing put out shocked me. 3 months later it is creeping and blooming! I'm debating whether to transplant it into a patio pot right now, or leave it in the shade and let it mature til next growing season? She Is currently set in her original plastic container on top of compost within the patio pot- basking in full sun; & seems to be content there as well!)

WOLLERTON OLD HALL
( David Austen Ausblanket)
Purchased this past April from a local nursery. It is a delightful shrub that has yet to bore me! The blooms are beautiful and very delicate...almost too delicate. While the color is not very consistent it can look "splotchy" at times and the cut flowers wilt quickly- this is my favorite!!! With Plentiful flushes of daily flowers to look at,it grows vigorously and easy to train. If only the pests didn't love it as much as I do Rolling my eyes.

EASY ON THE EYES
(Bareroot Weeks Rose) purchased online from Gurney's, delivered as part of their "Rainbow of Roses" collection - a random sampling of 5 roses in red+yellow+orange+purple+pi k....Planted this past easter! It is a small compact& neat bush. Doesn't require much besides water , and with each flush this summer the petals of the blooms seem to have gotten fuller and more gorgeously luscious

CUPID'S KISSES
(Bareroot WeeksRose)
Patio Climber that has really taken off since being potted on easter day. I hope that it will eventually overwhelm the ancient dead bush anchored and stuck next to my front door. Loves to be deadheaded, rewards daily with fresh buds of sweet rich "cerise" hot pink bursts of color. Perfection except for the slugs it attracts Blinking
