Hooray! very pretty!!

Plants here at one nursery are priced: 1 gallon pot, $35...Two gallon pot, $75... Three gallon pot, (up to 4 feet tall plant), $98.

Generic pink plants in a six inch pot, $29 at the hardware store.

What do you call a silly amount of money?

I generally pay around $35 for my great doubles and hopefully maybe fragrant plants from Thailand. If you're lucky and treat them as THEY wish to be kept, you have a creature that can live 100 years or more. Did you know that?

The daylilly people pay as much as $300 for ONE plant, I nearly fell over!

Melissa those are some steep prices!! I paid $ 30 for the yellow but it is a tiny plant. I could have gotten a nice sized one for $ 100.... Blinking the $ 30 was barely in my budget! Glare
We can get generic, usually without much of a caudex, for around $ 10-12 at Home Depot etc.

Of course I am aware that there are people willing to part with huge sums of money for something special, and I have splurged in the past. I know a person who paid $ 500 for a Plumeria cutting several years ago. As with all rare plants, pretty soon they're not so rare anymore and will be cheaper. So - these days I tend to wait...

Yup, what is special now, tomorrow??

I expect frgrance in Adeniums to be really good in two years or so. The pale whiffs I've had from two of my plants is really really a sweet, nice "smell".

Haha, I was looking at Iris one spring long ago, in Virginia, and one stank. Whew! I told the owner, "This one smells like used kitty litter!" The fellow looked quite peeved, but then he took a big whiff, and leaned back and said, "You're right!"

Erghhhhhhhhhh. Last year I bought fifty "New Yellow" seeds from Mr. Ko, and they have been beginning to bloom, finally. Most are pale pale yellow that fades to white the second day in the sun. Some have little pink marks on the end of each petal. One that had a darker yellow bud finally opened, and the yellow is nice, but the throat is "chartreuse", a yellowish green. Ugh! But it's growing on me. I generally dislike green flowers. Photo tomorrow----

Hey Melissa, post some photos of the green throat yellow one you have when it blooms, I, would like to see it, try and cross-pollinate it with your lighter yellow ones you miet get a darker yellow with a lighter throut seedling. I would like to see an Envy Green adenium, it would look nicer in adeniums since adenium leave are much darker than the Zinnia leaves, I grow the zinnias Envy Green once, but there was not to much of a contrast between the blooms and the leaves did you know there is also a green rose, it is absolutly beautyfull, I saw it in a rose catolog, i didn't get it because it was to expensive and they only sold it in lots of six plants

Hetty does your yellow /white plumeria have fragrance to it, I have a few of diffrent types and they all smell diffrent. I had to replant them all since my doggies had a party with them, for some strange things dogs like to play with flower pots and they also like to lay down on the potting soil. I love my doggies but sometimes I feel like planting them in the pots with their heads out when they make the mess Rolling on the floor laughing just kidding, could do that to my little babbies. Angel

Hey Dorise, my fravorit color is green, maybe thats why I like plants so much, they are mostly every tone of green there is. Hilarious!

Wilfred, do you put bone meal in your potting mix? Dogs will try to dig up the bone!!

Problem computer today, no photos, and the green does not photograph, doesn't look green to the camera. It's a Parakeet green, very yellowish. Owell...

No I don't Melissa, can't afford it. they just like the plastic pots to chew on them and lay down on the potting mix, they wacht every move I make and if I repot a plant while they are looking and place it somewere they can grab it, they wait until I go inside to grab it and play, think they try to imitate me but are not good at repotting plants, Rolling on the floor laughing little brats they are Hilarious! but I love them. they are always ready to welcome me home when I go out.
