I enjoyed your fawn..I had one a recently to lie down just as yours did
it was so tired and the mother left it for an hour to rest in the edge of our yard
and she returned to get it..The fawn just hung its head and closed its little eyes
for a little nap.. Your picture was so clear and brought me a moment of
happiness.. We feed our deer shelled corn and fresh water and a mineral block
and bread..and apples sliced thin.. Each season we pray they stay alive to bring us
joy each day that the return...year after year..the same family of does and bucks.

Sheridragonfly,

Glad you like the pic of my fawn. You sound like my hubby and me. We also feed our deer cracked corn and apples. They also get our stale bread and fresh veggie scraps and peelings etc. We have a bird bath (which I have NEVER seen a single bird use) that provides extra water for the deer in the summer. We also have had the same extended family of deer for years. In the spring we take note of the pregnant does ... then for a short time in early summer they disappear for a few weeks. But soon they return to show us their new "babies". They are such beautiful, gentle creatures. Smiling
