Just wondering..... which Hen in your henhouse would be declared the Star Mommy on Mother's Day?

If you don't include the common green one, then it might be More Honey which came close to pushing everything else out of the pot.

Ford's Spring goes crazy here.

So far the winner at my house would be Purdy's Big Red. She produced more than 50 offsets last year. I removed the bottom ones when they started forming roots and she just kept popping out more. Her leaves all but disappeared while trying to give her all to the babies.

This is when she first got started May of 2010.


Here she is 1 1/2 months later.


Surgery the next day. I was trying to save the rosette, the babies were eating her alive.


Here she is several months later in Sept 2010, nicely recovered. I was so surprised at how her leaves came back.

Lynn, this is the first Spring for many of mine and I am astounded at how some are growing and need to be moved and, as you said, surgical intervention.
