I made some rubber molds from a product I got a local craft store (Michaels). I made a curved hobbit hole front from clay then carved windows, a door, and even some rock walls. Then I painted the rubber mold product on in several coats. I also made a backing to hold the rubber mold solid out of plaster of paris. Now this may seem like a lot of work but I was able to make many pieces from the mold. I made another mold of a gingerbread house I can make from cement! For larger projects you can make molds from plaster of paris, or even from cement. I made a large half circle mold with an exercise ball in cement for making a planter or a cement ball. I simply put a plastic bag inside the mold so the cement doesn't stick and then pour the half circle and it works fine. As you can guess, I love working with cement, even bought myself a little mixer.

Thanks for that info, Dee. I have a little cement mixer too. I might have to get creative and see what I can make.

If you were any good at making sandcastles as a kid, you could make something like this with a few bits of scrap wood to form the basic molds. It's just damp fine mix concrete and an outer skin of mortar.

It's 6ft high, still looking good after thirty years.

As I'm now allowed to link YouTube videos here's three, of my "garden art." Well... things I made out of either wood or concrete over thirty years ago. Still in excellent condition.

The tea-house

The Japanese lanterns.

Eh?
Thanks for the "thanks"

But save the sarcasm that followed, together with the unnecessary "whistle" and you're a moderator, really?

Whether you join the more than 105,000 who have already watched, or not, isn't of any real importance. I don't mind either way. So there was no need for such a remark.

I am so sorry to have offended you Riley and if I had the time to explain, I would have.

I have a chronically ill husband to take care of and had many emergency issues come up this week.

Youtube was pretty much at the bottom of my list.

I'm sorry for your problems. I have mine too, a wife with MS and inoperable ovarian cancer.

However, whatever the problems, it takes no more time to be polite, than it does to be sarcastic.
