Plus, I'm worried again about drought. I just want my daylilies to bloom before that happens.

I have a few daylilies blooming and all are in bud. Earlier than usual and for some reason, we're gotten tons of rain. Weird...

I've been watching all your rain, wishing it would stop here for awhile on its way to you. But it doesn't.

I told a friend yesterday that I was thinking of a little road trip maybe to NC because I needed to feel and smell the rain on the mountains. He reminded me that I had to wait till my daylilies were finished blooming before going anywhere. He's right.

You can always come and watch mine bloom

Now that's a thought.

And, Sharon, some very nice commercial daylily growers are also in North Carolina. Just sayin'...

Well, except for the yellow iris with the blue beard somebody just sent.
And the tree peony that now has a bud, another friend.
And the baby hydrangea from another.
Sigh.

I'll drive through NC with my eyes closed. Ha!

I had a delightful, restful wander through your garden just now. I like the way you just let things be if they look happy, and also try a little of something here and there to see if it will grow, like the hosta next to the rocks. It was fun seeing where you spend so much of your time. The seating areas are so inviting.

It's a little cloudy now and I'm so hoping for rain. It's 90 and the weather folks say thunderstorms, supposed to be high 70s tomorrow. I could do without the thunder but I sure would like some rain and lower temps.

It's a good place to be. And as for my plants, when they are unhappy they let me know and then I'll do something about it. I need to get some long view pictures, but first I need to weed a little more. I can't seem to keep up. Too many gardens, too many plants, but oh boy the daylilies are going to be something else. Maybe next week.

Did you notice I have not mulched a single spot yet. I've never gone this long without mulch. I was waiting till the little maple seeds got through falling and now they have and the cotton wood is doing its thing, blowing in the wind, so it's time to mulch. But the weeds are back and they come first. See, it's a never ending cycle and I have too many little garden areas and not enough time, not enough of me to go around.

But it's fun anyway.

My sentiments exactly, Sharon. Spied that Banana Canna in the pot right away! Glad it's doing well.

I still wonder what turned to mush in that burlap bag in the garage during winter, Larry.

The canna sure looks great today! I love the red edge on the foliage.
And my daylilies are blooming!! I've got to get my pictures uploaded.

Remember the Daylily 'Wild Horses?' I check every day, but no buds yet. I sure am curious to find out if the color is right. Looking forward to your photos. Back to the book...
