Glad to hear it tested negative. What test did you use? (Not all tests cover all the common viruses).

Keep a close watch on new growths, too, as if it is a virus, then the symptoms will often show up in the new growths as well. If it's environmental or damage caused by pests, fungus, etc. then the new growths should be clean and stay clean (assuming no further damage).

A virus can appear in many different ways.
Color break is far more common in Cattleyas, far more unusual in Phalaenopsis. It only shows up in the flowers. It may appear more severe in some bloomings, less in others.
Viruses in Cattleya vegetative growth can develop slowly. Sometimes the plant is growing so well it outstrips the virus. The last years growth and this years new growth appears clean while evidence of the virus is seen clearly in 2 year old growth.

I used the Agdia test for ORSV and CymMV and tested twice to be sure. I am relieved to know it is not a virus as I was very concerned about that possibility.

The spots are mostly in two oldest leaves as I only see two little dots in the youngest leaf. All the other leaves are clean. They are visible from both sides of the leaves. Look translucent. Still don't see any signs of bugs anywhere Confused

The orchid seems to be growing well. Lots of buds forming Smiling Looking forward to see how it blooms to see if the flowers have any issues.

Uploading some pictures from today.

Unfortunately the Agdia test strips don't include Orchid Fleck Virus (OFV), which is a bit of a problem over here. I don't know how widespread it is there, though. As Bill mentioned, some viruses take a while to show symptoms and OFV is one that can do so (on Cymbidiums, at least, it may not show symptoms until the second growth cycle).

Very glad to hear that it's not ORSV, though, as that is (in my opinion) the worst of the three - symptoms are highly variable (and sometimes hard to spot), it's more contagious than the other two and lasts for 2+ years outside a host.
