Hi all... I'm Lori from Natural Worx Farms. We're in the process of relocating our small farm & nursery operation from Tennessee zone 6B to Blaine zone 8A. Believe it or not the areas are very similar in many ways except that of course in the winter time we have much less sun here in Blaine.

In Tennessee I had a solar greenhouse that I was able to keep warm easily even through the harsher winters because of the winter sunshine we got. However here in Blaine, I'm struggling to keep the hoop house & greenhouse warm through the winter without using electricity or gas.

Does anyone have any tried and true suggestions or options that I might try to incorporate so that I can overwinter the more tender plants?

Thanks in advance and looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Lori

Hi and welcome to the site. I have a small greenhouse that I heat with an electric heater.

Most of the nurseries I visit around seem to be heated with gas heaters. Not much help. Blaine is a beautiful area. About an hour north of me.

You might read the greenhouse forum on this site. Seems there where some good ideas on there.
