ShawnSteve - We had lots of heavy rain here starting in May with a 6 inch downpour and continuing the rest of the year. The two hurricanes added to that total. We had the wettest year on record when it was all said and done. Since January we have been more normal precipitation-wise, but the year is young!

I had Gnus Flash too at one point, but it diminished over the years. Bewilderbeast is a stronger grower for me. Batik never really took off in my garden. I would say the second best broken color grower for me would be Burseen's Holy Kosmoly.

Elainelope also does well. It's parent Maria Tormena grows like crazy in Thelma's garden so Elainelope must be one of those iris better suited for warm area.

Overall, my second favorite broken color is Tiger Honey.
Guess I like the tighter patterned broken colors.

Thx everyone. I actually joined several years ago and posted a few times. Then life went haywire and....now I'm getting back to something that resembles normalcy. Ha. I'm in the Salt Lake City area and as of today have approx. 14" of snow still on the ground. Iris are loving it..not me so much! I love going thru the iris topics on the forum...makes me hungry for Spring.

Nancy - Does Double Bubble have thicker substance to it's standards and falls? (Which is a plus in my book) It looked that way in your picture. Really a pretty iris.

@Lestv I'm with you on that 'Double Bubble', particularly that shade of blue, I agree, about 'Tiger Honey'. Isn't there are darker, similar version?
@UndertheSun That 'Tuscan Summer' of Nancy's, is really a great looking stand. I didn't look back to check for certain, but was it yours that was 'Tuscan Sun' I liked ? Or, is it 'Summer", also, or was it a photo by Leslie, & I got confused?
@Bloomers Nancy, I noticed that three of the Iris grouped nearby, 'Tuscan Summer' are the very three same colors I tend to use with my 'Rocket' snapdragons ! In(pink, white & yellow. (Except they haven't a blue,) That 'Smokin Hot', sure is really a stunner !

Yes..I think it's substance is thicker hence sturdy. I had to move it several times before I found a spot it liked. Since then it's a glorious clump! I almost got rid of it because I couldn't get it to bloom or give increases.

Can you describe its former and present conditions? That info would be valuable to me. Thanks!!!

I'll try. I have approx. 600 varieties of iris, a few hundred daylilies and other perenials..all mixed together. Trees and bushes thruout. Mostly my soil tends to be clay in nature..changes thruout the yard. I'd say the biggest factor with Double Bubble was it needed as much sun as possible. I have a lot of areas that get only 4 to 6 hrs of sun during blooming season. Several iris do well with that but DB was stubborn and insisted on more light.
