Hi admin, It is a lovely photo, but I have always noticed P. orientale has black, or grey pollen. Are you sure this isn't Papaver nudicaule instead? There are plenty of Iceland Poppy 'Champagne Bubbles' with which to compare it with. Although there are three others, on this page of photos, with similar flowers, (in white, yellow & orange colors,) they are likely Papaver nudicaule, also. P. orientale usually has darker basal blotches too, unless a particular cultivar,. I would suggest they be moved, to a more appropriate listing under Iceland Poppy (P.apaver nudicaule) .. I welcome any feedback.on this, or the three other photos mentioned, too.

If this information is correct, should the three photos added to this entry by @Lily_Lover also be moved to the P. nudicaule entry?

Hi zuzu. They appear to be Iceland Poppy (Papaver nudicaule) 'Champagne Bubbles', as they are an F1 hybrid & quite uniform. Notice the petals all have a "ridges", but I didn't purchase the seeds to be 100% sure. Compare to other Iceland Poppy "Champagne Bubbles, & if petals of the same cv. are mostly like that, then I would have to say, yes..

Let's wait for Lily_Lover to respond. We don't have to wait for a response from "admin." Those photos were added by a member who left the site long ago. After Lily_Lover responds, I'll move all of them to the P. nudicaule entry. I don't want to move them to cultivar entries without more evidence that they are specific cultivars.

Does anyone disagree? Does anyone believe these are photos of P. orientale?

Hello zuzu and ShawnSteve: Unfortunately, I no longer have the seed packet for my Poppies and the company I bought them from appears to no longer exist. As I am not an expert by any means I would suggest that the two of you decide where my photographs belong and make any changes necessary. Please advise me what transpires. Thanks!

Bruce's photos now have been identified as Papaver alpinum and have been moved to that entry.
