Perhaps Laurel thinks of it more in terms of a "stimulation package"?

Smiling Mahjongg eh? Very interesting. Is there such a thing as internet Mahjongg?

Carol, you're not supposed to tell. Besides, there are some here (whose name do not bear mentioning) that acquire more 'chids in a month than I do in a year. Thumbs up Those fingers are meant to point outwards 'cause I mean you!

I myself take this as a compliment! Proper Orchid shopping is an art. Whistling I have learned from the very, very best!

Yes, there is internet Mahjongg, but I personally would find it unappealing to play.
Laurel, which version do you play? I don't see blanks, so it must be one of the Asian versions, not Jewish-Asian?

It was meant as an envious compliment. Smiling

Ursula, I don't play but always wanted to learn. I'm going to look at some of the solitaire sites to get the hang of it. My MIL gave me her set when she could not longer remember the tiles and names of her Mahjongg group of over forty years. Sad I think it would be considered a Jewish-American set. It's a hand painted Royal Catalin. My other "family", being Chinese, played with Chinese sets. Lordy, just imagine a Jewish-Asian game of Mahjongg! It would not only include lots of Entenmanns danish and gossip but also yelling and table banging. Rolling on the floor laughing

The only difference between the sets would be the addition of 8 blanks/ wild tiles.
We used to play the Taiwanese version and also the Jewish-Asian version with family members and a friend, which we still do. No, we groan a lot and roll our eyes, but otherwise we are not too loud.
Some years ago we took a cruise down the Yangtze River, just to see it before Three Gorges Dam was completed. There was always a Mahjongg game going on somewhere on the ship and I had a good time taking a spot on the tables every so often.

Well I slept in a Holiday Inn Express once AND went tubing down the Chattahoochee river. Rolling on the floor laughing

There are eight Jokers in the set. Six have one depiction and two another. I think those are the same as blanks? Did a little internet research and I see it called Jewish-American style.

Now about orchids I don't like...I can't think of any others.

Now theres a post about the orchids we don't like and i can't get in trouble by another member who does. hehe! i'll join in...Not that i don't like them just that they don't interest me as much...
Cymbidiums(to many leaves), dendrobiums(small flowers and stick looking), oncidiums(small flowers and spreading growth like brassias) who have nice flowers but they stink, phalaenopsis (pancake looking), zygos (flowers stink).... actually to make it quicker i love Paphs(love interesting flowers on long straight stems), catts(so many big frilly shades of colours) and vandas(love the whole hanging roots and big coloured flowers).
No offence anyone! All orchid flowers are beautiful though!
This is Cymbidium Kiri te kanawa 'super princess' nice colour but they take up to much room and i can't grow them well here on the humid coast where i am.

Better let me know when things can go north, Kathy. I'm knitting orchid sweaters and sending a tanning bed.

We shipped out the house guests early this a.m. and are just coming in from planting. We'll have all but a few things in the kitchen garden by Sunday. Right now all I can think about is another day not planted is another day with out this or that vegetable. Tired and sore...orchids are on auto pilot this week.
