As I walked out the garden center after checking out - what did I see:

I grabbed a couple and went back in but the checker had already closed register so I put them back and left...but went back the next afternoon but they were gone! They were moved and were replaced with new plants, but I found them Hurray! .
Tag just says 'sibririca blue iris'. Regular price: $1 for 4" pot with 4 plants.
They're less than a foot tall - are these Siberian irises?

No, they are called Reticulated Iris. Most of the ones in cultivation are hybrids derived from Iris reticualata, Iris histrioides, and/or a few other species of bulbous iris

Mine seem to have disappeared.. They're usually the first bulbs to bloom here.

Come to think of it, I got some from WM last year. I wonder where I planted them? Maybe I'll find them when they bloom. Then I'll move them to a large planter or the front of my raised iris bed. I'll be in Columbia tomorrow, maybe I'll find some more at that bargain price.

They do best in pots here or very well-drained soil. Maybe they like Texas better? Crossing Fingers!

@kentpfeiffer, thanks for moving them; should have waited a little longer before adding to database.

@underthesun, the color really caught my eye! I did get two of the blue but blooms had already faded so no photo of them.

Definitely a great score!
