Sounds like a plan! Oh we should name them, too. I will go back and edit.

I try to get there a couple times a year . There is always something in bloom.
I was a bit too early for these beauties.

Pretty pics. Kathy, Paph. sukhakulii was my first and only one I could grow until recently.

The Catt is super, Ursula. Don't know how you move all those giants back and forth each year.

Cinda, your mystery orchid appears to be an Anguloa. They remind me of tulips. Ursula, don't you have Anguloas?

Yes, I do grow Anguloa virginalis.
And no, the gorgeous greenish Catt which looks like Blc Port of Paradise, is not related to the very pretty Anguloa.

And I will have to cut that metal basket of the C skinneri this year and split the plant. I am running out of room, it is HUGE!! Only thanks to regular workouts with my Wii fit plus was I able to lift it.

No, never grown them Kathy, but they are beautiful. The ones at the botanical garden are quite large. Do you have any? The goal here is to collect small orchids 'cept I keep landing ones that are small now and will be HUGE later. It's a pitfall of going off to a nursery and seeing a little "cutie" but not knowing the species. Dendrobium violaceoflavens which grows canes 6-7' is an example of that. Whistling Maybe minis can be mounted to it. Hilarious!

Ursula,
Maybe Wii will come out with an orchid game for us...
instead of reaching for a basketball and shooting it , we could reach for
an orchid and lift it? When we do that activity enough times we could be
rewarded with a new and exotic orchid for our 'collection'!

Great idea. That would actually make me want to exercise!!!
Laurel don't grow them. I have about 4 big leaved varieties and they take up lots of room. So I steer away from more.

Ursula , Lc Irene Finney is magnificent! Can you tell me how tall it gets? I just got one thru the mail that is rather large. It is called Lc. Nippon 'Livinza' x Shelly Compton "Touch of Class'

Janice,
I am happy to say, I have the true Lc Irene Finney ('Chicago' and Springs 'Best' ) and I will post them in the Spring hopefully in bloom. The one which I posted above, looks a lot like Lc IF but was never for certain identified as such, it flowers in the wrong season to be truly Lc IF. But the pseudobulbs and leaves are similarly sized and the flowers look very close.
Here is the whole plant in bloom, each pbulbs with leaf measures ca. 20 inches, dimensions of the plant are approx. 3 and 1/2 feet to almost 4 feet across.
The plant is in a metal basket.

Ursula, that Lc Irene Finney is HUGE!!! One of the prettiest yet. And scented, too? Great...You know, the Orchid sellers sites don't list the dimensions of the plant and they really should, don't you think? The leaves on my Ms Finney are lighter green than my other catts. Is that ok?
Don't know if I am prepared for a 4 foot wide Orchid just yet. LOL. ;-)

The leaves will be lighter in color if the plant has been grown very bright.
