Which elements do you have, Lindsey? With my Elements 8 I can just pick until I like it. Takes a few minutes. If you have my version I can guide you.

Corel Paint Handles paint effects easier than Ele. 8, for me and I like the paint brushes in P.S. Ele, 8. I still can't control certain paint brushes in Corel.

I think it's 6...might be time to upgrade!
I've always wanted to be able to paint...never had any luck, so I stuck with
weaving , silver smithing and photography...this looks like something I could
do...assuming I could master the tools!

It's very easy, the controls are on sliders for full foto effects, on Corel Paint and I use the pixel count paint brushes for touch up and black outs. Paint brushes work better with a pen control, not so good with a mouse.

tablets with the pen?

iPads don't have software, they have apps. You'd need to visit the Apple store.

I bought Photoshop many years back and took a real liking to it. Did a lot of playing around with it. Upgraded the version. Then decided my later version should be adequate for me without any further upgrades which would cost an arm and a leg. Fast-forward to now and the new computer I recently got. It won't load my original Photoshop. Without my original loaded I can load the upgrade. The original photoshop runs on too old technology. So now I'd have to buy the full blown latest version to get it to run on my new system. Without photoshop I feel like I've had my arm cut off.

Dear Kathy, my hard drive died in my iMac which is surprising as it is not too old. As my old photoshop was on the old one and I never did get on with it! I looked around and found Acorn software that do a photo editor for Humans. It does everything that photoshop does, but you do not need a PhD to use it, and it then does a bit more. It is for Mac's although i do not know if they do one for windows.
Simple to use and you save files in most of the current file formats or you can simply change them, i.e JPEG to PNG to GIF etc.
The help is great and I like this program, I also like the price! $31 downloaded to you with all the trimmings!

Thanks Neil. That looks so easy! No PC version though.
I have Elements and it is similar but more complex if I want. I also had to buy something after Photoshop was too old for my new computer. I was sticker shocked by Photoshop so I got Elements.

Well, after considering the options, I went ahead and bought an ipad...both my husband and son work for bestbuy so I had some professional consultants. I have an apple computer but didn't really want another large item on my already too small desk, upgrading the software, buying an editing tablet, etc etc, this just seemed like the most efficient solution.

I'm on my DBF's iPad now. My back is in spasm (first time in many years) so i spent most of the day in bed. I can do almost anything on it. Just finished watching a movie about Chinese immigrants and an old Joan Crawford movie on it in bed. Only thing is, I can't post my pics. But I could even do that if I used flickr. I plan on getting my own when there are lots of apps I can use at work.
