I may have over paid then, I think these are 3 gallon and they had them for $35, but it was the first I had ever seen them in real life, and they had 6 limbs coming from under the soil. Oh I do Lovey dubby the color on the mislabel, I was just trying to see if it would change as it grew and really be cl or what it could be.

David -

Use peat humus over peat moss. Humus retains less moisture. I have claymation style soil - I have to stop and peel it from my hand tools, clean it from the wheels of my carts, and generally just have to deal with it.

Also consider dolomitic lime (it will raise your ph a bit, so don't get crazy), azomite as was already mentioned, biochar, and leaf mold.
