I think Northern Lights takes orders in the fall and ships in May. I ordered for the 1st time from them last fall and that is the info I was given. Seems different way of doing business. I have not received my order yet, hope they mean early May! If I remember, they did not even start taking orders til later in the fall, and seems like only a few weeks and they shut down.

This year was different. Northern Lights normally lists and sells from Nov thru Feb, then ships in May. Not sure why this year was abbreviated, but I still managed to get 9, half of which are Gossards.

Standard operating procedures for Northern Lights. According to the website, during June and July, they propagate by splitting plants into single fans and place them into two gallon tree pots. They inventory everything in the fall and list for sale on the website. They normally sale during the fall, winter, and spring...maybe they sold out early this season. May is the month for shipping, but I usually get mine late April. You get the single fan and any additions in the pot. Last year I got all double and some triple fans with my order. All of the plants bloomed within a few weeks. Now that I know their setup, I start checking the site in early November.

I got notification that my plants for this year shipped on Monday, April 22nd, and I should receive them today.

You have to know the 1st year I ordered from them is different *Blush* blame it on me. I am glad to know that I might get double fans! I hear good things about them. I have only purchased from Maryott before, I don't order much from internet sites.

Nikki, that's kinda ridiculous.... Confused I would have given up.

I had, was a surprise to get a reply after so long, way after the listing ended of course but it answered a specific question about a plant for me so I understand why they did actually reply after that time.

I was one of the first 300 contributors to the plant database! Plant Identifier
I just wish they had a list form for what they have for sale, it is SO tedious to go through page after page ... I may not order from them for this reason. The prices looked okay though.

There are some sites that have the best search engines, and others that have just decent ones and then there are those that have terrible ones. I appreciate it so much when I am able to actually search an entire site for "Sculpted", "Relief" or other selected terms
when shopping for new daylilies, by just entering a few simple entries. The last sites I look at are always the ones with the worst "search " abilities. It is so nice for the owners of the sites to take the time to add descriptions fully describing the traits of the plants and even little personal observations sometimes that really help make decisions, and to make all that info searchable from the search box.

Well, talking about Northern Lights must have created the magic. I did not get a notice that they shipped, but my package was at my door just a little while ago. I received 3 fans of on, 2 on another, and a monster single fan of the 3rd. And a nice 2 fan bonus of a 4th! All look freshly dug and very nice. I am happy Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

Got my order from Northern Lights today also! I was wrong as far as how many I ordered. Only 8, 4 of which are Gossards, 3 Nordstrom, 1 Faulkner. Two gift plants, Blissful Ignorance (Nordstrom) and Sweet Miss Rose (Grossman)! One triple fan, two doubles and the rest are mature singles. Gotta say, my single fan of Blue Eyes White Dragon received last spring was 5 fans by fall. So don't let the single fan part scare ya. Picture before I found out that container leaked. I was scurrying about!

Nice! I have mine planted this morning. The foliage looks very pale, I imagine it will green up soon. We are having some overcast weather, cooler today so far. Probably a good thing for them.

I received my plants on Friday, and they were very pale as well...not sure why but the roots are healthy. Hopefully they will green up soon.

They are getting greener as of yesterday. The new growth from the center is a nice blue green. I'm going out of the country next week. I'm sure when I get back on the 11th, they will look even better. Hopefully we will get some rain while I'm away.

Marcia, I'm glad your order is confirmed.

(gonna go check email...)

Nope, nothing from Gossard. Haven't heard from them since March 23. Couldn't send them money since they never sent me a confirmation of availability. Shrug!

Maybe they should hire someone to answer emails, phone and voice messages if they are that busy. Nothing kills a business more than bad customer service. I am sure Nikki gave up before they responded five weeks later. I hate that !

I kid my wife when we have to go to Wal-Mart, I say they are going out of business soon because they stay so busy no one will shop there! Confused Maybe that is how the Gossards are?
