I've been through my lists and nothing matches, or is otherwise getting me anywhere in my search.

Photo taken in shade - plant is blooming underneath some hollyhocks. Rolling my eyes.

Bloom is approx. 4-5" in size.

Will Goodwin is lavender with white anthers. Does yours ever get this ruffled edge on the tepals?

Clematis 'Will Goodwin'

Or could it be Arabella?

Arabella looks good for it. I'll check to see if by chance the company that goofed carries it. It was supposed to be Vyvyan Pennell, but it's not, at least from what I've seen.

They do carry it.

Their own description and picture look much different, but others I've seen look quite similar to mine.

You know...this might be my extra Proteus. It seems to me that I recall that the first year my other Proteus plant bloomed they were this light blue color (and single).

Here's one of Sue's pictures to compare it to.

I'll do some checking in my old image files to see what I can find. Arabella's buds are not the same as the buds on my plant. I'll post today's pictures soon.

Thanks again for your help!

And Arabella is a darker lavender blue too. Oh course, so many of the clems look different depending on their location and the weather. Shrug!

I agree

Arabella also has very pronounced veins in the tepals.

>Still haven't taken one with the light right on it. There's a narrow window of time for that opportunity, as it's planted in quite a bit of shade.

OH! I've got it!

It's Silver Moon, from Brushwood last year. Hurray!

Thanks, everyone!

Okay. I had to remove a bloom and take it to real daylight, but here's that color. Big Grin

I had hoped to see a great deal of growth on this plant this year; the drought dashed those hopes. It's still alive however, so maybe next year it will have that opportunity. I'd love to see this vine covered in blooms! Lovey dubby
