Having to hide new semps from family members.

Looking at entry-level greenhouses.

Falling asleep to browsing MCG.

Clearing my browsing history.

Going to thrift stores five times a week for cheap pots.

How many marriages have sempervivums ended?

Will I ever be normal again?

What did your collections look like at the end of your first winter? Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up

By the way, I love your avatar.

I have a question for you Dana, is your spouse blind, or confined to just a few rooms in the house? Or is this room located at a different property?

It will only end your marriage if you did not choose the right partner in the beginning. If he/she accepts you with this fault you have chosen well. Big Grin

The thrift store idea is great, leaves you so much more money for more semps. Good thinking. Hurray!

Normal is a setting on a hair dryer. Why would you want to be "Normal"? I like you the way you are.

Mine was very small my first year in 2005. Looks pretty innocent, doesn't it?

And now there are 23 of these. Good thing I have a husband that really loves me. *Blush*

Dana,

Cheer up you only have the early stages. This from a person who has rowed out 10 K seedlings and has 20 K more to go! It's a sickness but a good one. it keeps your mind active and you get to play in the yard and commune with nature.

For me, hybridizing plants is a great combination of art and science and that's what drives me.

I made plans for a trip out to some hot springs for the exact dates of the clinic. I'll for sure come next year! Long term I absolutely plan to start up hybridization projects.

Some people have empty beer cans rattling around in their cars. I have empty trays from my local nursery and dirt.

Yes Dana, you are DOOMED!

You will find your self buying more and more and more and more.

I too trash the thrift shops for containers.

It is a lot easier if you just give in and go with the flow.

And don't look for help in this forum.

We are all confirmed addicts. Group hug

Dana, I never get tired of watching that video. It is amazing.

Jesse, how do you grow your semps? Containers, rock garden, in the ground, raised beds?

So far they've all been placed in my rock garden alongside my driveway, Lynn. I am still trying to decide what to do with my new additions this year. A few got chewed up, a few rotted, so I am thinking about potting up my next batch, getting them established well, then moving offsets to the garden in the fall/next spring. I am also thinking about a small hoop house to place the pots under in the winter.

I am with you though, Semperdurpem, these are super addictive!

Hey guys um can one of you lend me $10 bucks so I can buy that pink lotus semp on MCG? I promise I'm good for it once all that chick money starts coming in. *scratches neck*

My pot garden is like my sempervivum savings account.

I only start throwing semps in the ground once I've propagated the strain a few times. So many hungry critters and crazy weather swings along the Colorado front range.
