Lots of nice blooms. Do the leaves have a prominent mid rib? If so, they might be Iris ensata, Japanese Iris.

Nice clump Joy . The pointy signals indicate Japanese iris. The fact that you lost them also indicates Japanese iris. And it is almost impossible to kill Siberian irises.

Do you remember that winter in 09 that got down to single didgets for around 10 days? That's when I lost them, plus I lost many other pants too.

Oh yeah, I remember that. I don't recall it getting down to the singles here in the midvalley, but the forecast was dire and I dragged a lot of pots into the house.
