I purchased this house 9 yrs ago. It is 4 acres. I have an area as you drive down toward the house There is a spot that has evergreen trees, and mock orange bushes. I set a little bench there.

Through the yrs I have looked down and seen baby evergreen growing. I assumed it is either limbs fall and plant or there is some kind of seed. But the last 2 yrs what I thought was just another evergreen I noticed it was a red lacy J-maple.

How did that happen when there is not a Japanese Maple on the property. The closes one I have seen is about 5 houses down? We all have at least 2 acres so it would be about a block away in distance.

Lucky you to have a wonderful volunteer to grace your property! I agree. A bird-planting and one very viable seed! Enjoy!

You think they have seeds? See what I know. Rolling on the floor laughing I have had birds plant things in my gardens. That was how I got a beautiful crab apple but I did not think the J-maple had seeds. Oh I just read a question about seeds below. Learn something new every day.

I love nature. I will take a pic tomorrow. I can see why they would graft them because they are growing soooooo slow.
