Thread OP

Hey guys,

I'm currently a newbie when it comes to growing anything. Had been trying to grow my own collection of herbs in my apartment. Understandably, due to the confined space I had to resort to a hydroponic system, namely the Kratky method and also to propagating new plants via cuttings. As a result, I've got my self pretty much the whole hydroponic kit and a grow light too.

However, I noticed my plants werent thriving as before, after I've implemented the LED grow light that I've purchased. The leaves seems to darkened in colour, especially the younger leaves. Any idea what might trigger this? Thoughts and advices are greatly appreciated.

Sometimes cool conditions will make leaves dark or purple.
What is the
Kelvin rating of the LED light? 6400 is best spectrum.

Herbs are weeds. They thrive best on neglect and extreme conditions. Thyme likes cold, Basil likes heat, thyme has a short root system, Basil likes a deep place for its long tap root, etc, etc. Darkening leaves as in darker green, duller colors? Shriveling leaves? You didn't say which herbs and didn't give us much to go on. A look at where your system is would help also...
So many roads to take, choices to make, and laughs to share!

You have too many ppm of nitrogen and if you reduce your ml of your nutrient mix the leaves will lighten up.
NOT A EXPERT! Just a grow worm! I never met a plant I didn’t love.✌

I have never used hydroponic system so do not know whats wrong happening to your plants. It

Due to space limitation if I have to grow the herbs indoor. I would plant them in a pot with a drainage holes and place the pot on water dripping tray so extra water gets collected which will bee discarded.
I will water the plants when the soil gets dry and will ake sure that everyday I keep the pot outside my house door for couple of hours so it gets natural light and fresh air.
